Stunning Surreal Photography by Man Ray From 1920s and 1930s

Man Ray was a talented, self-taught visual artist and photographer. After moving to Paris, Ray associated with Dada and Surrealist movements. He produced major works in a variety of media but considered himself a painter above all. He was also a portrait and fashion photographer and he photographed many celebrities and models of Parisian cultural life during the 1920s and ’30s. His photographs were published in well-renowned magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vu, and Vogue.

Man Ray also noted for his work with photograms, which he called “rayographs”. He made them by placing objects directly on light-sensitive paper, which he exposed to light and developed. Here below are some stunning surreal photographs that Man Ray captured during the 1920s and 1930s.
