French Children Playing Out in the Streets in the 1930s and 1940s

Robert Doisneau has a very poetic approach when it comes to street photography because he has a very keen eye. Usually, his subjects are juxtapositions, eccentricities, and oddities of human nature, social classes, and children’s street culture. Children playing in the streets is a theme that Doisneau returns to repeatedly in his career.

In the following fascinating vintage photos by Doisneau, children from France were captured playing in the street during the 1930s and 1940s.
