Camden is an inner northern district of London, in the historic county of Middlesex. It became a borough in 1965 by the amalgamation of the former metropolitan boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn, and St. Pancras. It was named after an English Judge Charles Pratt. He also provided land for construction in 1791. Some of the places in Camden remain associated with these landlords, notably the dukes of Bedford, the Lords Southampton, and the Somers family.
Today Camden is famous for its entertainment venues, food chains, shopping malls, and markets. There are many historic landmarks and museums in Camden.
Here below are some amazing nostalgic photos of Camden in the 1980s. These photographs capture street scenes, roads, and everyday life. Photographer Peter Marshall captured these photographs.
