With the persuasion of a Viet Cong-made spear pressed against his throat, a captured Viet Cong guerrilla decided to talk to interrogators, telling them of a cache of Chinese grenades on March 28, 1965. He was captured with 13 other guerrillas and 17 suspects when two Vietnamese battalions overran a Viet Cong camp about 15 miles southwest of Da Nang air force base.

  1. They were braver than the American Soldiers. But we must now show compassion to those who came home from that horrific ilegal war. Back then, we spit them in their faces because we were young and stupid. The real culprits of all these atrocities were Congress, Potus and the military complex.

    • Why were they necessarily braver?

      Most marines were conscripts who would have had no reason to volunteer for this futile war.

      Imagine trying to survive knowing you should not be there.

      That is bravery.

      It is much easier fighting for a cause you believe in than one you do not.
