This is not a joke, They also had a similar type school at College & McCaul. It was on the top floor of Orde St., public school. Students wld go into class at 8:30 do studies, stop at 10:00 hv hot chocolate & buttered whole wheat bread then recess then back to school work untill 12:00, then a very healthy lunch, get your bed partner go to cubby get pillow& blanket carry with cot to roof outside then sleep till 2:30 put beds away, then recess then back to studies 3:15 had juice, or milk & cookies, then studies untill 4pm. School is out. That is 1 day at Orde. I know because I went there. It was for children that were not very healthy, had med issues, underweight etc., it was an excellent school.
I attended High Park Forest School. It was the same routine for me. I especially loved nap time, and having dessert with lunch. I also developed a love of nature by being out in the forest every day. I would lie in that cot under the trees, watching the squirrels chase each other and feel so peaceful and content. On my report cars I received an A in sleeping. LOL 🌳😊
Why are they sleeping at school?
Nap time. Sleep was understood to support healthy children.
They practice snoozing so that they will be ready for high school
