Just on this side of those was Fountain Alley. We’d turn in our unsold Evening San Jose news papers and settle up on the copies we sold. If I sold out my 10 issues I’d make 30¢. 3¢ per issue sold. I’d run across 1st to Woolworth’s to load up on Penny Candy for the walk home.
I remember eating at the counter too. Great memories
