Old photographs bring back memories and emotions, and when you compare them with the newest and most recent photos, they depict the difference and maturity that you have gained so far in that time. Dutch artist Ard Gelinck has been working on an ongoing then and now project in which he recreates pictures of artists and celebrities. Each image looks at a well-known face hanging with their younger selves, either at the pinnacle of their careers when they first started in childhood or at an important point in time. His images are often quite convincing since he takes the time to find perfect source photos where it appears credible that they are posing with each other. He then carefully matches the colors and tones, creating the illusion of a portrait actually taken together. Please take a look at the portraits of famous musicians posing with their younger selves. Among these stars are David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Debbie Harry, Lady Gaga, and many more. Vote your favorites, and don’t forget to share.
