West Indian and colonies stand at the Great Exhibition, Crystal Palace, 1851.

Prominent objects on display included a case of artificial fruits and flowers by H Elwell of Barbados; a pedestal and crown in shellwork by Miss Nichols; and articles made from the leaves of palm trees.
