    • The Jail Farm ran from Yonge St all the way to Bayview on the north side of Hwy 7. It was a sizeable property.

      That was the idea, that rather than punish offenders of minor offences, including vagrancy, in prisons the offenders had an opportunity to give back to their community by farming and learn valuable skills in the process. It probably helped a lot of people
