  1. That was the first phase of the palmolive plant down at Carlaw and what was then known as Natalie Street, now Colgate Avenue – built in 1917 with the partial third floor added in 1918. That plant was extended in 1923 with the completion of the 3rd floor and an additional 3 floors for a 6 storey and basement structure. Further additions were made in 1936, 1938, 1944 and finally in 1953-54 finalizing the the 365,000 sq. ft. plant and corporate office until it was closed at the end of 1992 and demolished in 1994-95. The structure still had a lot of life in it when it was demolished as the site was then converted to houses on the west portion and a condo building was built in 2011-2013 on the site of the factory building.
