  1. These people are working on printers in the composing room, more specifically, in ‘ad alley’ of the Statesman building located at 4th & Guadalupe. The tables in the foreground, with wheels, are commonly known as ‘turtles’ and the frames lying on them are the forms, or ‘chases,’ in which the pages are constructed. In the center background, you can see linotype machines.
