Where was the ward?
The very basics in survival, I cannot imagine how desperate and low in self esteem folks must have felt, having to live here, 😐
At least people had a roof over their head…much worse today. Thousands homeless in Toronto alone sleeping in shelters, streets, parks and their cars. The disparity between rich and poor has only magnified. So much wealth hidden off shore, tax loopholes, corporate welfare. Time for fair taxation.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen a comment lamenting the fact that they tore down such wonderful old buildings.
This looks like the house that the Buckets lived in from the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Almost identical to the picture in the novel.
