The two billboards hide what became the Glen Stewart nature trail. At the time the photo was taken, the ravine reached all the way to the sidewalk on Kingston Road and to the pavement on Beech Avenue. Later, landfill created four lots at the KR street front, which now consist of the Beech Clinic, formerly Dr. McBride’s dentistry and one or two post-war bungalows.
I wonder if the people who bought into the ugly condo on the southeast corner of KR & Beech realise how close that building’s foundations are to that landfill.
The barber/hairdresser shop next door to Wray’s later became Kenny’s Take-out. Yes that Kenny; everybody’s favourite waiter at The Goof.
