I’m not sure about this photo being in El Paso Texas. The type of trees in the background do not grow naturally in El Paso.
According to the Washington Post this is El Paso…1897
And people wish for the good old days. WHY
less government
Because a little hard work Never hurt anyone
to me the good old days were the 70s and 80s those were the decades where I was young and really enjoying life.
I had not been back from Vietnam then and would not want to go back. It’s taken me over twenty yrs to move on
I was in Vietnam 66-67 in the Marine Corps and I understand the Demons of War come back with you, life has been hard for me but God almighty has been there for me.
My mother always said she was born too late. I would always point out what her life would have been like growing up on a farm in the 1800s. You could just forget those fancy dress balls or maid service…
Are you sure? Those don’t look like El Paso trees.
Back when black people and everybody else had to work to eat and support their families.
No food stamps, no WIC, no
Section 8 and no welfare checks.
Everybody pulled their own weight and supported their families by working.
and yet that still wasn’t enough, people weren’t rich back then
they survived and fed their families.
Working should always provide for your family , no matter how many kids you have. People have done it long before there was any welfare.
Don’t have a family if you can’t support them by working.
Don’t count on government help. That’s how it use to be and thats how it should be now.
Where is this in the Rio Grande?
