Why did Toronto hate older buildings or history so much.
My great-grandfather and his son, my great-uncle, were head carpenters there. I grew up with the old table saw from the shop in the basement of our house in Etobicoke – my great-uncle had salvaged it prior to the demolition.
My mom sang at the Prince George & the King Edward Hotels in the thirties & forties.
I remember the amazing b&w photograph of her in a black dress there was on your basement wall! Hope you have a picture of it.
I wish I did. The was the photo of her that was mounted at the entrance of The King Eddie Hotel when she was singing there.
She keeps at the back of the coat closet in the basement. The only time it was revealed was when we played Hide-And-Seek in the basemeent.
