The Shawshank Redemption is written and directed by Frank Darabont. The story was adopted from the Stephen King story titled “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”. Film director, Frank Darabont purchased the film rights to King’s story in 1987, but development did not begin until five years later when he wrote the script over an eight-week period.
The film was released in 1994 by the Columbia Pictures and when the movie was released it barely made any success in the box office. The film gained a reputation and earned the audience years later. The audience understood the film a little later and turned into a sort of phenomenon. It is one of the few movies that are truly timeless, heartbreaking, deceptive, and giving hope to survive in the most deplorable conditions.
