Use to deliver for an IGA. They use to pack groceries in LCBO liquor boxes as they were very sturdy. LCBO use to charge $2 for as many as you could pack in an econoline van. 2 runs from Pape and Danforth every Saturday morning. Boxes for the day.
This is young and Shaftsbury we used to drink beer behind there. The ports a great watering hole was just north of here and had a really cool ventilation system.
Snuck in there as a teen before the renos and went up to the top. The guano was probably a foot thick
it’s pretty clean in there now, pretty much empty. The top floor seemed a little rickity, didn’t want to try going up there even for the view
To all those that say North of the tracks is Rosedale, just shush. That clock tower was our fort between about 1977-1981. And I mean the actual clock portion. That was our turf! All my friends who lived north of the tracks lived in ‘Summerhill’! We went to Rosedale to cause shit! Lol. I grew up in that area.
The ‘long arms’ couldn’t get us as you had to be a skinny kid to go in the metal window on the North side of the tower. If the came, we’d just wait them out. 😂
We had furniture and the whole bit. At that time, there was no clock and we had a 360deg view of the hood.
Great memories!
That’s the lcbo now, right?
YEP THE BEST ONE !
