There are always a lot of people with luggage or big bags in old photos. In the days before plastic bags were mass produced, people used to go to the shops with a quality leather bag and run errands.
Perhaps they were returning bottles in those big bags! Such an act is beyond our comprehension today, no human could ever commit such a thing

In the early eighties, it was called Waverley Market, which was the name of the old building it replaced – a fruit and vegetable market.
