This was one of Grandfathers’ projects as engineer for the city of Toronto.
The design of the original viaduct incorporated plans for a future rail system that could run underneath. 50+ years later, the subway went in.
I worked on the Bloor viaduct in 1966 on the new east west subway as an electrician They were able to lay track on the steel platform under the road which had been engineered 50 years prior. The amount of money this saved would have been staggering

My grandad walked to work from Ravina Cres to the firehall where Second City ran its shows after that.
He had to go down the hill at Broadview as there was no Bloor Viaduct yet.
