In the 1970s, Greece was under a major political crisis. It was started in 1967 and ended with the 1974 referendum, which ended the monarchy and new constitution was approved after a year. After the restoration of democracy, Greece’s stability and economic prosperity improved significantly, but the country was still groping for a national identity.
