  1. I know I used to wade in the pool, it was not a fountain. It had a beautiful mosiac like tile bottom and sides with fish tiles. It didn’t have fencing and kids would wade in it with parents or nannies sitting on the surrounding benches. Sometime in the early 60’s I guess someone decided to fill it in with dirt and plant roses in it. In the late 60’s or early 70’s someone then decided to dig out the dirt and roses and finish the bottom like a regular pool surface, then they installed the cement fountain and put the fencing around it..
