Arlene Carol Dahl is an American actress and former MGM contract star. Dhal started her career by performing in the local drama group, and she also worked as a model for department stores. Dhal made her screen debut with an uncredited bit in Life with Father (1947). She rose to fame in the 1950s with super hit movies, including Reign of Terror (1949), Three Little Words (1950), and several others. Dhal also appeared in TV shows, including One Life to Live from 1981-84 in ABC, and she hosted ABC’s anthology series The Pepsi-Cola playhouse. In 1953, Dahl also played Roxanne on stage in a short-lived revival of Cyrano de Bergerac, opposite Jose Ferrer.

Dhal left her acting career in 1959 and established herself as a businesswoman. She opened Arlene Dahl Enterprises, which marketed women cosmetics and lingerie. Dhal closed her company in 1967 and started working as a vice president at ad agency Kenyon and Eckhardt. She also founded her fragrance company ‘Dahlia,’ but it was closed within a year. Dahl has written more than two dozen books on the topics of beauty and astrology. Dhal has married six times, two of whom were actors Lex Barker and Fernando Lamas. She has been married to Marc Rosen, a packaging designer, since 1984.
