Disneyland was opened on July 17, 1955, in Anaheim, California. Construction began in 1954 and completed in just one year. Its official name was changed to Disneyland Park in the 1990s. In 2018, the park had approximately 18.6 million visits, making it the second most visited amusement park in the world that year, behind the only Magic Kingdom. On the opening, over twenty-five thousand people attended the event.
