Sam Elliott is an American actor known for his distinctive lanky physique, mustache, and resonant voice. He is the classic picture of the American cowboy. Elliot spent his childhood in California. By the time he was 9 years old, he had decided on a career in acting.
Elliot made his acting debut with a minor appearance in the movie ‘The Way West’ in 1976. He also appeared in TV drama ‘Gunsmoke’ in 1972 and ‘Murder in Texas’ 1981. He rose to fame with his role in the movie ‘Lifeguard’ in 1976. Throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, Elliot appeared in several movies and TV shows. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his best performance in the movie ‘A Star is Born’ in 2018. Elliott has also performed voice-over narration for various commercials.
Sam Elliott began dating actress Katharine Ross in 1978, and the couple married in 1984. They have a daughter, Cleo Rose Elliott who is now a musician in Malibu, California. Elliot now lives with his family on a seaside ranch in Malibu.
