Rare Historical Photos of the Boston Public Schools in the Late 19th Century

The Boston Pictorial Archive contains photographs documenting schools and evening classes in Boston in the 19th Century, with the bulk of the material covering the years between 1890 and 1893. These images show building exteriors and interiors and adults participating in classroom activities.

There are schools such as the Evening Industrial School, Hancock Evening School, and the High School of Commerce.
